Casa Don Carlos

Sussex>Brighton>Brighton Restaurants>Casa Don Carlos

Why:Great Spanish feel to this restaurant in the Lanes and although it can become quite hectic on a busy Summer evening, it just adds to the authenticity of the place. Traditional tapas offer good value with staples such as Tortilla (3.80), Sopa Marisco (4.30), Ensalada Rusa (3.80), Queso Manchego (4.30) and Paella (4.75) on offer.
And to add variety there will always be a few daily specials chalked up on the blackboard such as Pimientos de Padron (4.95) or Pulpo a la Gallego (5.45) or Ternasco (7.45) as a more substantial plato principal.
The aroma as you walk through the door, the excitable Castilian chatter and the obligatory fridge in the middle of the restaurant means it hard not to think you're in Spain itself.
